Abstract: | The building sector, which accounts for ca. 40% of total final energy consumption in Europe, provides good opportunities for energy savings (Bloem and Atanasiu, 2006). The combination of energy efficiency measures and the use of renewable energy sources reduces the consumption of fuels and electricity and thereby reduces emissions of CO2 and other pollutants. |
