| Abstract: | It would be somewhat pretentious to describe this short article- as a study of the contemporary Maltese painting, yet to give an adequate account of such a subject would be beyond the scope of this essay. However, my intention is to review some of the local trends in art, and to bring forward some of the achievements which were accomplished by Maltese artists during the last quarter of the century. But before an attempt be made to discuss the merits of some of these works a glance at the circumstances in which the work were executed, will be of some help to the reader. |
