An anomaly which was noted on the seabed on the fringes of Xlendi Bay in Gozo in 2007 during a systematic survey to locate any archaeological findings in the area, led to the discovery of a Phoenician shipwreck dating back to 700BC. Discoveries from this underwater project were highlighted in a new Heritage Malta exhibition which opened to the public from September 22, 2018 until August 31, 2019.en_GB
