| Abstract: | This issue of the Demographic Review provides details of Demographic and Vital developments during 1975 together with comparative data for previous years. These are preceded by a short commentary which describes the main features of 1975 which are, summarized here under:- a) a reversal of the population downtrend in evidence since 1970 b) an accelerated rise in births, and an upturn in deaths. c) a deep trough in the number of emigrants and a sharp, rise in that of returned emigrants. d) a reduction in the number of marriages following the sharp increases registered in 1973 and 1974. |
