dc.description.abstractIs-sagrifiċċju suprem ta’ Abela, Attard, Bajada, Caruana, Darmanin u Dyer sarraf, mal-ħidma kostanti politika tal-mexxejja tal-Maltin, fil-konċessjoni tal-Gvern Ingliż tal-Kostituzzjoni ta’ Gvern Responsabbli tal-1921 li abbażi tagħha twaqqfet l-Assemblea Leġislattiva magħmula minn erba’ deputati eletti minn kull wieħed minn tmien distretti elettorali mmexxija minn Speaker u Deputat Speaker u li abbażi tagħha nħatar Prim Ministru u Kabinett ta’ Ministri Maltin, kif ukoll Senat magħmul minn sbatax-il membru, uħud rappreżentanti ta’ gruppi speċifiċi u oħrajn ta’ natura ġenerali. The supreme sacrifice of Abela, Attard, Bajada, Caruana, Darmanin and Dyer paved the way, along with the unceasing political pressure exercised by the Maltese leaders, for the British Government to grant Malta its 1921 Self-Government Constitution on the basis of which the Legislative Assembly, made up of four deputies elected from each of eight electoral districts, was set up, run by a Speaker and Deputy Speaker, and by means of which a Prime Minister and a Cabinet of Maltese Ministers, as well as a Senate made up of seventeen members, some of them representing specific groups, were appointed.en_GB
