Abstract: | The cumulative number of confirmed cases of human avian influenza since the beginning of the year is 34 cases with 26 deaths. The HPAI subtype H5N1 is unprecedented since there are no records of epizootic having lasted so long a time and having covered such a wide geographical area in such a short period of time. |
