Abstract: In 1960 Malta is celebrating the nineteenth anniversary of one of the shipwrecks of St. Paul. Under the presidency of His Grace the Archbishop, a national committee has been formed to organize the centenary festivities which will culminate in the coming of a Papal Legate to Malta, and a radio message of His Holiness Pope John XXIII to the Maltese people. These celebrations are intended to fall in line\with similar festivities to be staged in those cities of Italy that were honoured by Paul's call on his way to Rome. The church in Malta boasts an apostolic origin and an apostolic tradition, neither abandoned nor adulterated throughout the .nineteen centuries that separate it from the shipwreck of Paul on the island. This is the highlight of the centenary festivities that are being held in 1960.
