| Abstract: | The principal aim of this study is the proposal of an Index of Integrity for local sandy beaches. This index will be based on the floristic composition of beach communities relative to that of a reference beach. Chapter 1 compromises the early works related to beach flora while Chapter 2 includes the methods together with a description of the Maltese Islands. The results obtained are the discussions are found in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 respectively. Lastly, Chapter 5 focuses on some concluding remarks. Nonetheless this dissertation ends with a list of references. |
