Abstract: | The name Montgomery is familiar with Maltese from all walks of life. It is the name of a great man, Field Marshal Sir Bernard (Viscount Montgomery of Alamein) whose career during World War II had astonished the world. His main important job was to defeat the enemy at all costs, assist the Island of Malta by giving air cover to the last possible convoy. Such convoy had to leave Alexandria about the middle of November, 1942. |
