dc.description.abstract | How do European families look at social policy? The set question is a difficult one. In practice the answer will vary, to some extent, from country to country and also, within anyone, according to family type, geographical region, and such factors as social class. This paper tackles the question indirectly. One starting point is to look at those key developments that are affecting European families, and hence policy responses. One important qualification is necessary. The paper focuses on social change, yet continuities - around marriage patterns for example - are also important. | en_GB |
