Abstract: Emerging new technologies are merging the digital, physical and biological worlds as we challenge ourselves with what it means to be human. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be seen around us and in use in various devices and applications from supercomputers, drones and virtual assistants, to 3D printing and wearable sensors. But the real questions are - § What does Intelligence in AI stand for? § How will AI affect our lives and our jobs? § How can AI improve the quality of our lives? This practical guide for teachers will explore some of these questions, together with concepts lying at the roots of Artificial Intelligence. The activities with different challenge factors will introduce some of the concepts used for AI using simple examples from daily life.
