| Abstract: | In this year of the centenary of the Great Siege of Malta, it is meet that one should write about the bravery, tenacity and victory of the Knights and the people of Malta and Gozo over the infidel. Indeed, it would be impossible to relate the many individual episodes which must have occurred during the four months of the Siege. Sorne might be surprised at the power of resistance and bravery of both islands perhaps the many previous ·minor sieges, incursions, piratical attacks and abductions into slavery had ·been the hard school which trained the Maltese and the Gozitans to withstand hardship, and be ready to give their lives in preference to loss of freedom. |
