Abstract: | Another tree native to the Mediterranean is the Holm Oak. About one million years ago when the prevailing temperatures were much colder, the Mediterranean was dominated by species of Pine, while Oaks played a subdominant role. However, as temperatures grew warmer the oaks took over as the dominant species. |
