Abstract: Employee motivation and management attitudes are the main variables that keep a company performing to the best of its capabilities. Employee motivation is important as motivated employees are satisfied within their job and feel a sense of responsibility that they want to give their best for the company. Also, when an employee feels motivated it means that he is feeling happy working in the company and so this means that the employee is reluctant to leave. This means that the company keeps its most valuable employees and so the performance will constantly be good. Management attitudes are equally important as managers look to keep the employees happy, motivated and also their management styles should get the best out of the employees. In this study we are looking at these two variables and through such study we will conclude on what effects they have on the company performance which is represented by the employee turnover. In this study a quantitative research was used. The quantitative method included two questionnaires. The first one was for employee motivation whilst the other was for management attitudes. The employee motivation questionnaire contained multiple choice questions that included statements for which the employees had to either strongly agree, agree, undecide, disagree and strongly disagree. This allowed the study to give a clear idea of how the employees are feeling. On the other hand, the management attitudes questionnaire consisted a number of questions with a Likert scale format that helped in analysing the attitudes of the management. The findings within the study show us that certain factors can contribute into making the employees feel demotivated especially lack of rewards and this causes the employee turnover to be high. This is not ideal for a company as not being capable of keeping hold of your employees will cause confusion and a constant sense of unsettlement within the company. Also, through the use of hypothesis and the Chi square tests we found that there was no association between the different groups of age, gender and tenure and the motivation variable.
