Abstract: A poster presentation regarding the validation of a method to test for pesticides residues. Introduction: There is the need to develop a pesticide testing laboratory in Malta as samples are analysed abroad. Testing for pesticides residues in agricultural crops is a complex process because of the large number of pesticides used and the low concentrations allowed. Aims: To validate a multi-residue method in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory intended for the routine analysis of pesticide residues in local agricultural crops to check for compliance with EU legislation on maximum residue levels, and to evaluate food safety and potential risks.
