Abstract: I propose to present this morning an overview of some of the ethical problems facing the Gynaecologist today. The control of fertility - including both contraception and the treatment of infertility - is a field in which moral issues frequently arise and in which the Catholic doctor is closely involved. Can a doctor in good faith prescribe a contraceptive to an unmarried girl or give the 'morning after pill' to a woman who could have conceived, willingly or otherwise?
