Abstract: A poster presentation on developing and auditing standard operating procedures for community pharmacy. Introduction: The use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) may not yet be a legal requirement for community pharmacies in Malta, but they may be useful to provide a benchmark of the professional service that should be provided at a pharmacy. This should result in increased satisfaction for the patient as well as standardise practice for community and locum pharmacists. Aims: - To devise a general procedure for common processes in the community pharmacy. - To implement the procedures in 19 pharmacies around the Maltese islands. - To audit the system, identify issues and make recommendations for improvement.
