dc.description.abstractThroughout the second half of the 19th century and well into the 20th, Malta was to see the presence of a large number of Italian artists. Domenico Bruschi (1840-1910), born in Perugia, was an eclectic spirit that, according to Christian Attard, gave Malta a taste of the two opposing facets of the spirit prevalent at the end of the century. His paintings are visible in several Maltese churches, like Gudja parish church, Gozo Cathedral or the Church of St Augustine in Valletta.en_GB
