Abstract: Giuseppe Bajada was one of the victims of the "Sette Giugno" riot on 7th June 1919. He was born in Xaghra (Gozo) in 1881. In his early 20s, Bajada established himself in Zabbar. In the meantime, the colonial government was establishing its contacts with the British Dominions around the globe and trying to convince them to accept emigrants from Malta. He emigrated to Canada where he stayed for three years before coming back to Malta. He had planned to emigrate again to Canada by May 1919, but he succumbed to his injuries after he was shot by soldiers in Valletta during the riot.
