An investigation on expressive typography using Maltese poetry for an installation design

Abstract

The dissertation mainly aims to explore the phenomenon of expressing emotions by making poetry more relevant and by investigating the use of poetry to form an installation art. Studying digital arts and working on this project enabled me to understand the relationship between text and visual art. The research and results indicate that for something to be called ‘a work of art’ it has to be understood and analysed. The qualitative method that was used in this study shows that art is the product of language, as language is the source of expressionism. The use of text is used for an installation design that mainly sets out to analyse the different stages of grief.
