Language teaching in Malta : finding a balance between il-Malti lingwa nazzjonali and English

Abstract

This video lecture is the keynote speech at the final conference of the European Structural "Measures" project, "Integration of children with immigrant background in Slovene schools", University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Entitled “Language teaching in Malta: finding a balance between il-Malti lingwa nazzjonali and English” it underlines the importance of finding a balance between language use in a bilingual setting, also by referring to educational policies. Reference is also made to the linguistic history of Malta and to its changing demographics.
