Abstract: This introduction of the volume "Migration, Multilingualism and Schooling in Southern Europe" presents contributions which deal with issues of particular significance in relation to recent migration dynamics and the organization of educational systems in Southern European contexts. While bearing in mind the importance of tracing a basic comparative framework, it is only through a context-specific analysis that it will be possible to discuss, in detail, what could be the most suitable instruments and methods of intervention within each individual context.
