Abstract: Teaching history outside of the classroom has long been recognized as an important part of teaching history. During a conference on Maltese history teaching held in 1971, M. A. Agius explained how "Historical excursions can make Maltese history teaching more appealing to students." (Williams and Vella Bonavita, 1974).
