Abstract: In this article, Anthony Zarb Dimech explains the development of Philosophy in Malta. The thinking, reasoning and logic has been shaped first by the Ancient Greek Classical Philosophy, but was also influenced by European thinkers spanning over many centuries. Zarb Dimech divides the Maltese Philosophy into different historical periods or time blocks: Pre-Knights Period (pre-1530), Period of Knights Hospitallers (1530-1798), Inter-Regium Period (1798-1813), British Colonial Period (1813- 1964) and Post-Independence Period (1964-).
