In light of the flexibility granted by the Paris Principles, national human rights institutions are not required to have a rigid structure and therefore a number of human rights bodies in South Africa, France, Scotland and England are examined in order to establish the points of convergence and divergence between the said bodies. By extracting the most salient features, this paper aims to determine what structure the potential Maltese Human Rights and Equality Commission should have.en_GB
