| Abstract: | Gejtu Psaila 'll-Ħaċċa' made history not only by becoming Malta's first professional footballer in 1922, but also because of his legendary exploits, says Carmel Baldacchino. Born in Ħamrun in 1893, he started his career in 1910, the same year that Ħamrun Spartans were formed. His two sons, Gejtu Junior and Romeo, both played professional football in the late 1940s and 50s. |
