| Abstract: | This is a collection of articles dealing with various aspects of science as it affects the society of today. A number of chapters deal with topics such as science and human values, religion, and the environment. Other chapters deal with recent developments in genetics and medicine which have revolutionised modern diagnostic techniques, and which will no doubt have a marked effect on therapy in the future. The final chapters deal with teaching science at school, and the role of the scientist in society. |
