Abstract: Between October 1974 and June 1975 the Manoel Theatre remained the principal centre of music activity in Malta. Indeed the intimacy suggested by the size and the decor of this theatre make it just right for concerts, especially when, as was the case last season, the emphasis is on recitals and chamber music performances. Other venues were St. John's Co-Cathedral, where regular organ recitals as well as a performance of a Nani's Requiem Mass were held, and St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral, which has become the home of the Malta Choral Society. Indeed the idea of inviting performers for musical evenings in various churches all over the Island is gradually becoming more popular and should contribute a great deal towards fostering popular interest in music.
