Abstract: | Pre-conception care is based on educating future mothers on issues that can influence neonatal morbidity, both in the short and long term. Of major importance is advice on optimal body mass index, as well as lifestyle and diet. This is essential both for women with low risk, and even more so in cases where there are specific medical conditions. The quality of this advice can have a huge impact on public health. The midwife, whether in the community or in hospital, has an important role in providing this information. |
