Abstract: | This was the busiest season the Arts in Malta have seen within living memory. The country's economic straits seem to have turned more and more people's minds and hearts to music, drama and the fine arts as refuges or healers. It is difficult to imagine that there have ever been so many actors acting in so many productions, amateur or semi· professional, in Malta before. When have we had so many orchestral concerts, concerts of chamber music and solo recitals before? Shows of works by Maltese and foreign artists, individually or in groups, were also abundant, though sales were not always impressive. [excerpt] |
