| Abstract: | These annual reports are like a photograph of a moving train - a still picture of what has taken place during the year in the cinema. The train, of course, keeps moving on but these yearly reports are a historical record of the cinema at a particular time and a particular place. Since it will take some months before this report is read, it is unavoidable that certain things may have changed by then. Indeed, so many things have changed since last year's report that it seems as if I had written it ages ago. Unfortunately most of the changes were negative and this is an extremely depressing time to write about films in Malta. [excerpt] |
