The purpose of this study was to examine the possible relationships between social anxiety and introversion. A quantitative study was the most appropriate method for this particular study because I was concerned with investigating the correlation between variables. Two standardised questionnaires were gathered into one 70-item questionnaire, this was then administered through random and snowball sampling. Results from 89 participants were gathered, organized, computed, and analysed through SPSS. The data was analysed using Pearson correlation and one-way Anova. The results showed that there is a positive relationship between social anxiety and introversion, a negative relationship between social anxiety and extraversion, and that introversion and extraversion do not lie on the same continuum. The results were similar to previous studies implying that females tend to develop social anxiety more than males.en_GB
