Abstract: Menopause has an overall adverse impact on musculoskeletal health. It is associated with osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and sarcopenia. Osteoporosis and related fractures, together with the consequent pain and locomotor disability, affect the quality of life and life expectancy of postmenopausal women. Poor musculoskeletal health may progress to frailty and higher incidence of falls and fractures, which further increase the associated morbidity and mortality. This leads to high economic costs worldwide
