Abstract: While driving from the picturesque village of Mgarr towards Gnejna Bay, one passes by a small fortified villa, which has been turned into a coffee shop. This villa has a story to narrate. Once upon a time a rich count lived inside this building, locally referred to as a castle. He possessed land all over the place. His wife passed away leaving him with a daughter whom he planned to marry to a rich nobleman from the nearby island of Sicily. The daughter however did not want to get married despite her father's wishes. One day, the count gave orders for the castle to be decorated and a wedding dinner to be prepared. In the castle's courtyard the servants prepared a long table and a special dress was sown for the daughter because the count was expecting the arrival of the bridegroom. [excerpt]
