Abstract: This dissertation is for teachers and educators who are willing to incorporate environmental education into the year 3 Maltese language curriculum. It includes a pack of lesson plans planned upon the theme home, which was chosen after a year 3-curriculum audit of the Maltese textbooks. The lesson plans include teaching aids such as stories, songs, games, poems, flashcards, worksheets, etc. presented as proposals that can be applied to different teaching and learning situations. Teachers are free to choose from and adapt the described materials according to their particular classroom context. The prepared pack included in the dissertation aims to educate children about, through and for the environment through the four basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. These skills are embedded in real life situations and ask for the children's active participation. It is hoped that this resource pack is utilised so that children, future's citizens, become more responsible towards their environment.
