Abstract: The research aims at establishing Secondary School Students', P. E. teachers' and the students' parents attitudes and perceptions towards Taekwondo with reference to other martial arts. This will be followed by comparing the ultimate aims of the martial arts with the findings. The study is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is a general introduction to martial arts with specific reference to Taekwondo. The second chapter gives a historical overview of martial arts throughout the years. This will be followed by a detailed history of Taekwondo, it's philosophy and the inclusion of martial arts in P.E. programs. Also in this chapter, a brief history of Taekwondo in Malta is also given. Chapter 3 investigates how the study was conducted while Chapter 4 deals with the analysis of questionnaires. The study concludes with chapter 5 where the author draws some conclusions and gives suggestions about the study.
