| Abstract: | Research carried out in order to outline the teaching of mathematics in the Maltese primary· schools, changed and developed from the middle of the nineteenth century up the out present times. This chronological development was built up, by examining the syllabii and textbooks that were used. Also historical documents and reports issued by the Department of Education were consulted. |
