dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to examine and analyse the changes which occur in the writings of a nine year old boy in an environment different from that of the classroom. This year long longitudinal study looks also at the differences between the Old Paradigm and the New Paradigm of Maltese, proposed by Spiteri (1998). The main difference is that in the Old Paradigm the main focus is on the final product rather than on the process of writing. On the other hand, the New Paradigm puts the student and his personal experience at the centre of the learning context. This concept is developed as well in the third principle in the New National Minimum Curriculum (1999). In this study, a nine year old boy passed through the Writing-As-Process method where he wrote nine writings in Maltese. The results obtained show that the boy studied passed through a continuous process of writnig which helped him to develop more as a writer. | en_GB |
