'Water' : a curriculum pack for the EkoSkola Programme

Abstract

The aim of our dissertation, is to shed light on the important role primary education has to play in the development of environmental attitudes. Environmental Education has been identified as an important tool in the preparation of individuals to deal with the challenges posed by sustainable development. This should be embedded in schools' curricula through a whole school approach. Furthermore, we have produced a cross-curricular resource pack which is in line with the Ekoskola Programme. The activities are intended to raise awareness on water conservation by infusing environmental education values in primary subjects. We have also sought the feedback from experienced teachers which has helped us analyze the contents of the pack.
