Abstract: The Comenius project is something new for our schools. As an applicant member state, Malta has the right to participate in the Socrates programme including Comenius. Maltese schools together with partners from Europe have proposed very interesting and effective projects. The major aim of this study was to monitor some of these projects and to see the impact they had on the school, the children, the parents and the teachers. The research focused on different schools: state schools, private schools, and church schools. During the research I tried to see which were the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of each project. In my research I also included an analysis of projects from abroad. This study aims to show that the Comenius project was a positive experience for those schools that participated. In fact many of the schools recommended that other schools should participate as they did. Comenius is a tool through which teachers and students can develop their skills and acquire new ones. It also motivates all those participating and opens new horizons for them.
