Citation: Coleiro, A. (2020). Adaptive sports: a content analysis of local and international media reports (Bachelor's dissertation).
Abstract: The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the position of adaptive sports reporting within the media, exploring broadcasting of the games by television channels, both local and international, and reviewing articles on these sports, keeping in mind the right approach and vocabulary that should be used. Apart from all this, it will raise awareness of the disability in the world we live in, showing that there are a lot of people out there with disabilities that need the support. This will be supported by quantitative research done through a public questionnaire, to gather the public’s perspectives on adaptive sports and the media. Once the results are gathered, they will be discussed and pick on specific arguments that frequently arise on this subject, supported by evidence and the findings through the survey. This is a subject that is rarely explored, and especially on the local scene, there is not a lot of research done. Through this writing, a clear message will try to be delivered to the readers and understood, and maybe inspire some to start watching and following adaptive sports.
