Abstract: Computers are to be introduced in the local state primary school system as a teaching and learning resource across the curriculum as from October 1996. A questionnaire was devised in order to conduct a thorough research on teachers' knowledge about computers and attitudes towards computer use in primary schools, before the introduction took place. The questionnaire, which was distributed to all state primary school teachers in Malta, aimed at investigating the knowledge teachers have about computers, their level of awareness as regards to computer use in the primary school setting and their attitudes towards its implementation. Accordingly, in the literature review one may find the attitudes expressed by teachers abroad. The dissertation proceeds by analysing, interpreting and discussing the feedback obtained through the questionnaire.
