'Lanġasina u l-istaġuni' : multimedia package for the teaching of Maltese in year three

Abstract

This dissertation tackles the design and implementation of a multimedia package for the teaching of Maltese in Year 3. This package consists of eleven exercises in the form of games, directly related to the attainment targets (Skaluni) stipulated for the same year. All these exercises refer in one way or another to the topic of seasons. This package is intended to assist the teacher in making the Maltese language more interesting for the young students. Therefore, it is designed to be used in a flexible way, that is, it can be used for self-study, as an integrated part of the lesson, to motivate students during a lesson, or as a follow up of a lesson. Furthermore, this package is also aimed at increasing awareness in students about the Maltese environment and culture. This package was evaluated with four boys and four girls who are in Year 3 primary.
