Abstract: | There are different practices and different studies on radicalisation and attempts to mitigate violent extremist behaviour. Yet, we have to admit that we did not yet agree on a concrete definition of terrorism and in some cases also of radicalisation as it involves various issues whether coming from the individual, culture, politics and history, which hinders the finding of a common approach that would concretely work in identifying, mitigating and addressing violent behaviour related to radical fanaticism. Identifying and learning from successful practices carried out by different nation states is the way to create an ever-stronger policy culture that aims at mitigating violent extremism from its inception and suppress and repress the potential of such violent behaviour in individuals who are already involved. |
