Abstract: To answer that question, one must delve into the cultural background of the students in question. These students come from a remote area in Bataan in the Philippines that offers no career or work opportunities and thus the students’ future is considered bleak and stagnant. This study is an amalgamation of the Philippine culture and pedagogy methods that together have led me to create a textbook guide that provides ample resources to be able to deliver music lessons successfully. This textbook will help guide young, prospective music teachers on how to teach music competently in deprived areas such as Bataan where musical resources are scarce and the teachers inexperienced.
