Abstract: There are two conflicting ideas in the world of ours. One is promoting liberalism and the total independence of every individual from . institutions and the other is promoting submission and the total dependence of the individual on institutions. Education is concerned with turning human species into own human spirits pursuing their own interest and autonomy. Employment is concerned with turning human species into human robots producing and consuming economic products for the mere satisfaction of biological drives. There must be a middle road between liberal idealism and materialistic realism. Will vocational guidance provide the road promoting the humanistic spirit without neglecting the desired and essential economic growth?
