Abstract: ADHD is a disorder that causes a child to behave differently, in comparison to other children of the same age. These differences vary from disruptive behaviours to learning weaknesses that affect not just the child with ADHD but all those around him. ADHD was not always recognised as a medical condition, which needed diagnosis and treatment, and so many children with ADHD ended up failing through the educational system since they did not receive any type of support. Today, however, children with ADHD have the right to regular schooling with extra support if required. Three children with ADHD were identified for this study which took place between June 2002 and March 2003. Their behaviour at school and at home was observed while their relatives and teachers were interviewed. Through this study I have looked at ways in which these three boys are being integrated in their own school and in particular I have looked at effective strategies which teachers and facilitators try to implement to ensure that these boys get the best education possible.
