L'apprentissage de la langue Française a travers la culture Maltese

Abstract

This piece of work tries to prove that a foreign language is grasped faster and more profoundly by pupils when the target language is being taught through the 'culture' of the Ll; in our case, French through the Maltese culture. The theoretical part of the work, which stems from research and investigation on sociological and linguistic grounds is complemented by the practical aspect that is, the therapy. All the work presented is based on the Niveau 1. of the audio-visual, La France en Direct by G.et J. Capelle. Special care was taken to retain the linguistic items of the said method. Most of the modifications or adaptations proposed centre around the concept 'culture'.
