Abstract: | The aim of this study is to draw up a profile of Ltudentteachers across four year groups and recognising any particular patterns. The writer first describes the methods used in gathering the data necessary for the study to be valid. The study then goes on to investigate whether the socioeconomic background has affected in any way the chances of students' entry into university to become teachers. The writer here looks at the occupational status and level of education, of the student-teachers' parents, brothers and sisters and economic factors. This is then followed by an enquiry into how and what these students think about becoming a teacher and about teaching itself. This is preceded by some profound research into the three main educational ideologies. This leads to the last aspect of student-teachers' lives to be enquired into. Here the more personal side of their lives is revealed with a specific emphasis on their social and cultural lives. Finally, in the concluding section there will be assuming up of what has been discovered and any implications this may have on all aspects of education. |
