Sports participation in Gozo : a study and research about sports clubs and facilities in Gozo with special reference to its future plans and problems

Abstract

The first part of this study sets out a description of all sports clubs on the island, including historical views and photos. The next part sets out a brief history of all sports facilities in Gozo. The number of photos showing certain crucial resources aids this. The third part will attempt to explore the types of competitions, which are currently held in Gozo. The fourth part of this dissertation concentrates on the sports facilities and participation in Gozo. Moreover, Gozitan sportswomen and women's difficulties encountered in reaching their goals, were also analysed. To collect this information, a questionnaire was administered to both post-secondary students and successful sportsmen and women in Gozo. Finally, interviews with Local Councils and the Minister responsible for Gozo took place in order to examine what the future holds for Gozo.
